    Create New Tag in GTM

    In your Google Tag Manager workspace, click Tags -> New. Name it "WAButton - WhatsApp Widget".

    Tips: Tag naming convention: Prefix with 'WAButton' for rapid filtering and audits.

    Choose Custom HTML

    Click Tag Configuration and select "Custom HTML". Paste your WAButton embed code.

    Tips: Check 'Support document.write' if using legacy containers (not required for standard WAButton).

    Set Trigger to All Pages

    Under Triggering, select "All Pages" (or "DOM Ready"). Save the tag.

    Tips: You can create trigger exceptions (e.g. Page Path contains '/checkout') to hide on specific funnels.

    Submit and Publish Container

    Click Submit in the top right of your GTM workspace and publish the new container version.

    Tips: Use GTM Preview mode to inspect tag firing in the debug console before publishing live.
