Step-by-step installation for Google Tag Manager

Follow these steps to add your WAButton installation code to your Google Tag Manager website.

    Create New Tag in GTM

    In your Google Tag Manager workspace, click Tags -> New. Name it "WAButton - WhatsApp Widget".

    Pro tip: Tag naming convention: Prefix with 'WAButton' for rapid filtering and audits.

    Choose Custom HTML

    Click Tag Configuration and select "Custom HTML". Paste your WAButton embed code.

    Pro tip: Check 'Support document.write' if using legacy containers (not required for standard WAButton).

    Set Trigger to All Pages

    Under Triggering, select "All Pages" (or "DOM Ready"). Save the tag.

    Pro tip: You can create trigger exceptions (e.g. Page Path contains '/checkout') to hide on specific funnels.

    Submit and Publish Container

    Click Submit in the top right of your GTM workspace and publish the new container version.

    Pro tip: Use GTM Preview mode to inspect tag firing in the debug console before publishing live.
