Watermark your WhatsApp messages with hidden information

Add a reference code or a private note to a message everyone can read. Send it on WhatsApp, then decode it back out of the reply. Works on Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop.

Add, extract or remove a watermark

What do you want to do

The message as it will be read. Required.

An order number, a campaign code, a short note — anything. Nobody reading the message will see it. Leave it empty and nothing is added.

+1

Optional. Type it the way you would dial it from inside that country.

Without a number

Applies while the number above is empty. “Ask in WhatsApp” builds a link that works right now and lets whoever opens it pick the chat. “Leave $PHONE” builds a template for your own system to fill in.

Everything here runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The message you paste in is never sent anywhere, and no account is needed.

Result

Type a message to watermark, or paste one to check.

When is watermarking your WhatsApp messages useful?

  • 01

Track a message back to its order or lead

Hide the order number, ticket ID or lead reference inside the message you send. When the customer replies quoting it, run the reply through Extract watermark and you know which record it belongs to — no asking them which order this was about.

  • 02

Know which campaign a reply came from

Send the same message from two campaigns, two ads or two salespeople, with a different code hidden in each. The text everyone reads is identical, so nothing looks like tracking and no link gets mangled — but every reply still tells you where it came from.

  • 03

Check a message really came from you

Paste a forwarded message back into Extract watermark. If your watermark is still in it, the text is yours and nobody edited it on the way. If it is gone, the message was retyped or altered — which is worth knowing before you act on it.

What you actually get

1

Nobody sees the watermark

The message reads exactly as you wrote it. No extra symbols, no odd spacing, no attachment. Paste it into WhatsApp and it looks like an ordinary message, because to everyone reading it, that is what it is.

2

It survives the trip

Tested and working on Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop. Send a watermarked message, paste what arrives into Extract watermark, and the information comes back exactly as you put it in. That reliability is what the sophisticated text encoding behind this page is for.

3

Nothing you paste leaves your browser

Adding, extracting and removing a watermark all happen on your own device. A message you paste in to check is never uploaded, there is no account, and nothing is logged anywhere.

Common questions

Does the watermark survive WhatsApp?

Yes. It is tested and working on Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop. Copy the result out of Add watermark, send it as an ordinary message, then paste what you receive into Extract watermark and the hidden information reads back out. Other apps vary, so if you plan to route messages through something else, test that route once before relying on it.

How do I decode a watermarked message from a WhatsApp message?

Open Extract watermark, paste the message in, and the hidden information appears straight away. There is no key to keep, no password and no account — anything watermarked here can be read back here. If the message carries no watermark, it tells you that instead of guessing.

Will it flag or damage ordinary messages?

No. Emoji, and languages such as Persian and Dari that need invisible marks of their own, are recognised and left alone: they are never reported as a watermark, and Remove watermark leaves them exactly where they were. Only a real watermark is reported, and only a real watermark is removed — which is why cleaning a message never quietly corrupts real words.
