Add WhatsApp Chat to Any GoDaddy Website in Minutes
GoDaddy's official custom-code path is an HTML section. Paste the snippet, publish, then add the same section to every page you want the button on.

Step-by-step installation for GoDaddy Website Builder
Follow these steps to embed WAButton on your GoDaddy Website Builder site. No complex development or app fees.
- 1
Open the site editor
On your GoDaddy product page expand Websites + Marketing, click Manage next to the site, then Edit Website.
Pro tip: This guide is for Websites + Marketing (Website Builder), not a GoDaddy-hosted WordPress install. WordPress sites should use the WordPress guide.
- 2
Add an HTML section
Go to the page (the footer of the homepage is a good start). Click Add Section, search for HTML, and click Add.
- 3
Paste, then publish
Paste the snippet into the Custom Code field. Leave Forced Height blank. Changes save automatically. Preview, then Publish.
Pro tip: A Forced Height of 0 deletes the section. Leave it blank so the script can run without reserving a visible block.
<script src="https://widget.wabutton.app/v1.js" data-widget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID" async></script> - 4
Repeat on every page, or use GTM
GoDaddy's HTML section is per page. Add the same section to the footer of each page you care about. For a true site-wide install, put the snippet in Google Tag Manager instead.
Pro tip: If the button renders inside a boxed iframe instead of the page corner, the HTML section sandboxed the script. Use the Google Tag Manager guide.
Why store owners and agencies choose WAButton for GoDaddy Website Builder
No theme files
You never leave the GoDaddy editor. The official HTML section is the documented custom-code slot.
Floating button, not a boxed widget
The snippet paints a corner button. If it appears stuck inside a grey box, the section sandboxed the script — switch to Google Tag Manager.
Same snippet as every other platform
One WAButton embed. GoDaddy, WordPress, and custom HTML all load the same script.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a site-wide header or footer code field?
- Not in current Websites + Marketing. Older Website Builder versions had Settings header/footer fields; those were removed. The HTML section is the official path. Google Tag Manager is the site-wide alternative.
Does this work on a GoDaddy WordPress site?
- No. Use the WordPress guide (WPCode Header & Footer) for those. This page is only for the drag-and-drop Website Builder.
