What is a WhatsApp catalog link?

It is wa.me/c/ followed by your number in international format with no plus sign and no spaces — for example wa.me/c/12025550188. Opening it takes someone straight to your product list inside WhatsApp instead of to an empty chat.

Why does my catalog link open a chat instead of my products?

Almost always one of three things: the number is a personal WhatsApp account rather than a Business one, the Business account has no catalog items yet, or the number in the link is wrong. Open the link on a phone that is not yours to see what a customer sees.

Do I need a WhatsApp catalog to use the storefront?

No. The storefront is a separate answer for exactly that case. It is a file you download and host yourself, with a WhatsApp link on every product, and it can say things a WhatsApp catalog has no field for — minimum orders, delivery days, sizes.
