Country codes, with the digits you actually drop
Every country's dialling code and a real example number — written the local way and the international way, side by side, because the difference is what breaks most links.
Country
Pick a country for its dialling code, a real example number, and the local form beside the international one.
No countries matching
Try searching by country name, international dialling prefix (like +34), or 2-letter country code (like ES, US, BR).

What you actually get
Both forms, side by side
A number written the local way often starts with a digit the international form drops. Seeing both at once is what stops that digit surviving into a link that goes nowhere.
Real example numbers
Every example comes from the same phone-number library browsers and carriers rely on, not from a blog post. If a country's format changes, the page changes with it.
Every country, not the popular ones
All 245 territories with a published numbering plan, each on its own page, in eight languages. Most lists stop at the thirty countries their author had heard of.
Common questions
Do I include the + in a WhatsApp link?
- Not in the address. A wa.me link takes the digits alone — wa.me/442079460123 — because a plus sign in a URL path is not what it looks like. Keep the plus when you write the number for a human to read.
Why does the local number have an extra digit?
- It is a trunk prefix: a digit, usually 0, that tells the local network you are dialling long distance inside the country. It has no meaning from abroad, so the international form drops it. Leaving it in is the most common reason a WhatsApp link opens an empty chat.
Where do these numbers come from?
- From libphonenumber's published metadata, the same dataset used to validate numbers on Android and in most phone-number libraries. They're formatting examples, not numbers from a reserved fictional range — most are shaped like a real subscriber number, so don't message one expecting nobody to answer.
